i enjoy listening to my old man
talk about karma and life
but sometimes i just switch on my "screensaver"
note my ability to look into his eyes
and nod in a timely manner
when my mind is elsewhere actually..

many a times
i feel that i'm happier
during my penniless days
i never forget that day during NS
me and mr. rabbit had to put together
all our coins to pool for our
bus fare home, a canned drink and a stick of cigarette
